The US state of North Carolina has voted to override its governor’s veto of a ban on most abortions after 12 weeks.
It cuts the window for abortion within the state down from 20 weeks, will now take impact on 1 July.
Lots of girls journey to North Carolina from close by states to get an abortion as a result of restrictions have been traditionally stronger in neighbouring states, and after the veto was overturned, protesters within the statehouse chanted “disgrace”.
