The top of Niger’s presidential guard has named himself the top of a transitional authorities after Wednesday’s coup that overthrew democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum.
Common Abdourahmane Tchiani made the announcement on state TV.
He stated the takeover was essential to keep away from the “gradual and inevitable demise” of Niger.
