Niger’s army council has dismissed the director of the customs service and the tax authority, and introduced taxes can be collected in money.
The import and export merchants’ affiliation has confirmed receiving directions to pay all funds obtained on to the treasury, bypassing banks. It’s a part of measures to sidestep sanctions, that are already making life troublesome for Nigeriens.
