Taylor Home, which is the topic of Niekamp’s creative work, a print of which we introduced dwelling with us, was designed by G. Douglas Wylie for Pat and Rikk Taylor, accomplished in 1962. This contemporary home, located on a steeply sloped web site, is likely one of the small modernist houses within the metropolis.
Characterised by a low-slung type nested into its panorama, Douglas fir beams, massive overhangs with full peak expanses of glass, and pure, unadorned supplies, the home is a modest but refined model of a typical post-and-beam design that proliferated throughout the south coast of BC.
