We’re scrubbing immediately’s NS-35 launch. The crew encountered a problem associated to the booster’s avionics. New launch goal forthcoming.

New Shepard’s thirty fifth Mission Targets Liftoff on Saturday, August 23, Will Fly Extra Than 40 Payloads to Area

    Aug. 19, 2025

Blue Origin’s subsequent New Shepard flight, NS-35, is an uncrewed mission with greater than 40 scientific and analysis payloads onboard. That is this system’s thirty fifth mission and can deliver the full variety of payloads flown on New Shepard to greater than 200. The launch window opens on Saturday, August 23, at 7:30 AM CDT / 1230 UTC from Launch Web site One in West Texas. The webcast will start quarter-hour earlier than liftoff.

The payload manifest consists of 24 experiments from NASA’s TechRise Pupil Problem, together with 1000’s of postcards on behalf of Club for the Future(opens in a new tab), Blue Origin’s STEAM-focused nonprofit. As a part of its mission, Membership for the Future works with organizations like NASA, universities, non-profits, and Ok-12 faculties to encourage the following era of house explorers. The group has engaged practically 95 million individuals globally by way of initiatives together with Postcards to Area, standards-aligned classes to assist lecturers, and an envoy program. College students can submit their very own digital postcards to fly to house here(opens in a new tab).

The mission will present over three minutes of unpolluted microgravity for experiments from a spread of organizations, together with NASA, Johns Hopkins Utilized Physics Laboratory, Oklahoma State College, College of Florida, Carthage School, College of Central Florida, Teledyne, Area Lab Applied sciences, and Lecturers in Area, amongst others.

This flight makes use of our devoted payload capsule, RSS H.G. Wells, and latest New Shepard booster, the identical car mixture that flew on NS-29(opens in a new tab) and efficiently demonstrated lunar gravity simulation contained in the capsule.

    NS-35 Manifest Highlights

    • NASA TechRise Pupil Problem, Future Engineers: The NASA TechRise Student Challenge(opens in a new tab) offers a hands-on alternative for college students in grades 6-12 at U.S. faculties to achieve crucial expertise in engineering, computing, electronics, and extra that can be required for America’s technical workforce. The 24 pupil payloads embody experiments on house farming, medical options, and the conduct of liquids in microgravity. NASA’s Flight Alternatives program manages TechRise, which is run by Future Engineers.
    • A.R.E.S., Ecoatoms: The A.R.E.S. payload is the primary of its sort, that includes a singular construction designed for chemical coatings in microgravity. The experiment consists of 432 sensors that can be coated in house concurrently. NASA’s Flight Alternatives program supplied funding for this payload.
    • Organic Imaging in Help of Suborbital Science (BISS), College of Florida: Principal investigators Rob Ferl, who flew on NS-26(opens in a new tab), and Anna-Lisa Paul, are adapting ISS-based expertise for suborbital use with their experiment, BISS. The upgraded FLEX fluorescence imaging system is flying for the fifth time on New Shepard and allows more and more exact and dynamic understanding of organic responses to suborbital missions. NASA’s Flight Alternatives and Organic and Bodily Sciences packages supplied the funding for this payload.
    • Propellant Refueling and On-Orbit Switch Operations (PROTO) & Microgravity Ullage Detection (MUD), Carthage School: Carthage School Area Science program’s PROTO experiment is collaborating with NASA Johnson Area Heart to check new options to measure spacecraft propellant ranges in microgravity. MUD is a non-invasive technique to find the liquid-vapor interface in spacecraft gasoline tanks throughout microgravity. The system incorporates acoustic vibrations and exterior sensors to detect whether or not the tank wall is in touch with liquid or gasoline, which is crucial for secure in-space refueling. This experiment is flying for the third time with New Shepard. Each payloads are supported by NASA’s Flight Alternatives program and the Wisconsin Area Grant Consortium.
    • EDR Gasoline Cell, Teledyne: In collaboration with NASA’s Glenn Analysis Heart, Teledyne has spent over a decade growing a gasoline cell expertise that generates electrical energy and water from hydrogen and oxygen provides aboard house autos. This experiment will take a look at the system throughout all mission phases and function a foundational step towards scaling up energy and water manufacturing to assist long-term lunar and Martian habitation.
    • TIS-3 & TIS-4, Lecturers in Area (TIS): Lecturers in Area offers coaching and flight alternatives for classroom spaceflight experiments designed by lecturers and their college students. This payload is flying experiments from New Mexico, New York, and Maine centered on radiation detection and safety, sound degree detection, and environmental knowledge assortment. After the flight, lecturers and college students will analyze and current their findings on the Lecturers in Area web site, at conferences, and at science festivals. Findings from earlier TIS experiments on New Shepard will be discovered here(opens in a new tab).

Comply with Blue Origin on X(opens in a new tab), Instagram(opens in a new tab), Facebook(opens in a new tab), LinkedIn(opens in a new tab), Threads(opens in a new tab), and YouTube(opens in a new tab), and enroll on BlueOrigin.com(opens in a new tab) to remain present on all mission particulars.
