Nasa has efficiently launched its strongest rocket, Artemis I, after three earlier failed makes an attempt.
The unmanned mission launched from the Kennedy Area Centre in Florida on Wednesday morning, sending the Orion spacecraft into orbit the place it can journey to the moon and again.
Nasa hopes the Artemis challenge and Orion might see manned expeditions to the moon resume as early as subsequent 12 months, virtually half a century on from the final time man walked on the Moon.
