MARYLAND (WBFF) — The Maryland Division of Well being introduced a partnership with the Maryland Coalition of Households and Manatt Well being to develop a public roadmap with change for the state’s public behavioral well being system.
The partnership will set up the subsequent steps to enhance behavioral well being for Maryland’s youngsters, youth, and households.
“We’re making very important enhancements — together with investments in disaster providers for youth, and new school-based initiatives, in partnership with sister companies,” stated Maryland Well being Secretary Dr. Laura Herrera Scott. “We additionally know that vital gaps stay and that not all youngsters and youth are getting care once they want it.”
The Division, Maryland Coalition of Households and Manatt Well being, from now till December 2024, will:
- Conduct a present state evaluation.
- Develop an inner report and preliminary set of suggestions.
- Put together an in depth roadmap with proposed coverage adjustments and motion steps to enhance behavioral well being care for kids and youth.

The Maryland Coalition of Households is the state’s main group that helps households and youth navigate the behavioral well being system.
