Dozens of fighters have been killed in a safety operation in India’s northeastern state of Manipur.
The state’s chief minister stated they’d been attacking civilians and burning down properties.
The federal government deployed hundreds of troops to the state, following a flareup of ethnic violence.
Tensions have been excessive between minority tribal teams and the non-tribal Meitei group – over particular privileges for getting land and authorities jobs.
