A youngster has been arrested over a fireplace at a former main college in Perth.
An eyewitness described seeing a “twister of fireside and smoke” on the outdated Balhousie Main College constructing on Muirton Place shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The Scottish Fireplace and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched six crews and two peak home equipment to the scene, with firefighters persevering with to battle again the blaze into the early hours.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested in reference to wilful fire-raising.

Balhousie Main College was closed in 2023 when pupils have been moved to the brand new Riverside Main.
