The White Home is asserting that the person with protected authorized standing who was mistakenly despatched to an El Salvador jail was a member of the MS-13 gang and alleged he’d been concerned in human trafficking.
Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in addition to White Home press secretary Karoline Leavitt, acknowledged an “administrative error” in efforts to take away Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia from the U.S.

In a grievance, Abrego Garcia’s legal professionals disputed the federal government’s claims.
“Though he has been accused of basic ‘gang affiliation,’ the U.S. authorities has by no means produced an iota of proof to assist this unfounded accusation,” the grievance acknowledged.
