    Within the first hour as authorities responded to the flash floods that swept Texas Hill Nation killing a minimum of 119, police rescued over 200 individuals and evacuated over 100 houses, Kerrville Police Sgt. Jonathan Lamb stated as he recalled the morning of July 4.

    “I don’t know what number of lives our KPD staff saved in an hour in Kerrville, however I do know that this tragedy, as horrific as it’s, may have been a lot worse,” Lamb stated.

    The sergeant defined how an area freeway crisscrosses the Guadalupe River and when the world flooded, it created islands within the low mendacity areas, trapping individuals of their houses and autos. A type of trapped individuals was a patrol sergeant leaving his residence in Hunt, Texas, on his strategy to work in Kerrville.     Lamb described his officers dedication as group, “Texans serving to Texans.”
