As Ukraine retakes territory, villagers in liberated Kherson discuss their precarious life underneath Russian rule.
“These Russians stated they had been liberators, they simply began robbing us,” stated Fedir Derhun, who lives in part of the southern Kherson area.
The 69-year-old stated he “almost died of starvation” in the course of the Russian occupation, and added that they took his automotive, furnishings, and mattresses.
Almost each home on his road has been broken, and there may be nonetheless no energy or water, with locals counting on volunteers for meals.
