To the editor: There’s definitely a lot to admire about Mayor Karen Bass’ inexpensive housing plan (“L.A. City Council passes ordinance to streamline affordable housing,” Dec. 9).
Nevertheless, there was an enormous lacking ingredient within the article: Nowhere is there any dialogue of the prices of the initiatives concerned on this plan. Previously, city-funded “inexpensive housing” could also be inexpensive for the fortunate few who really dwell within the backed items, however the prices to provide the items have been off-the-charts costly — hundreds of thousands of dollars for every residence.
I’d wish to see a follow-up article on whether or not or not the “inexpensive housing plan” is definitely inexpensive for the taxpayers of Los Angeles.
