To the editor: I’ve learn Steve Lopez’s column for a few years. I’m disenchanted that he would even think about shifting in another country simply because his occasion misplaced an election. (“Trump return could be a growing California nightmare. But leave the U.S.? No need,” column, Nov. 6)
Newsflash, Mr. Lopez: Dwelling in California or any state that voted for Vice President Kamala Harris will not be going to exempt you from federal legal guidelines. I believe I’ll go over his column sooner or later.

To the editor: Our higher angels deserted us, and the shining metropolis on the hill has been tarnished.
President-elect Trump has been given an opportunity to redeem himself. After labeling America a “rubbish can,” he has the chance to take out the “trash” and restore our place on the earth as that metropolis on the hill.
However it’s not hopeless if he fails. Andrew Jackson supporters trashed the White Home after his inauguration, and we survived. We survived the presidencies of Andrew Johnson, Warren Harding and Herbert Hoover, and we are going to survive that of No. 47.
The survival of the republic continues to be within the palms of the folks, and I believe we’re as much as the problem.

To the editor: Proper on, Steve Lopez. I’m staying proper right here too.
I’ll resist to my final muscle tissue and mind cell any tried takeover of California by the Trumpists. We’re going to go round him, over him and underneath him to get to our purpose of preserving this superb state and its insurance policies.
