LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass on Wednesday blasted the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, saying the raids have put an enormous dent within the metropolis’s economic system.
Bass stated companies have seen a drastic discount in immigrant prospects. She’s involved some immigrant households whose breadwinners have been rounded up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement could also be on the point of being left destitute.
“When one breadwinner, one wage earner, is gone and disappears – to outlive in our metropolis, economically, you want two, three and 4 wage earners to maintain housing, to maintain meals on the desk, to maintain garments in your children,” Bass stated.
“When that’s taken away from you that simply would not destabilize a household, that destabilizes a neighborhood,” the mayor added. “It destabilizes companies. It destabilizes a neighborhood.”
