KALKASKA COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) – – A Kalkaska County group, working to battle meals insecurity, is marking 12 years of supporting neighbors in want.
Kalkaska Space Interfaith Sources (KAIR) will quickly be holding its Kampout for KAIR meals drive.
From October 6 – 11, the group can donate at drop off websites throughout the realm.
With the variety of households in want rising, officers say the necessity for donations can also be going up.
“Our numbers have elevated by about 25%, which means that we’re serving 250 individuals extra at our meals pantry companies. Between the 2 applications of our meals pantry and meal website, we serve between 1,500 and 1,600 people, distributing over 30,000 kilos of meals a month,” stated Kathy Somes, Govt Director for KAIR.
Folks can drop off meals donations for Kampout for KAIR from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. on the following places:
- KAIR, 324 S. Cedar Avenue, Kalkaska
- Serra Automotive, 408 W. Mile Highway NW, Kalkaska
- Household Fare, 784 S. Cedar Avenue, Kalkaska
- Northland Meals, 101 US-131, Kalkaska
Financial donations are additionally accepted in-person and online.
