Ahead Kamaldeen Sulemana has left Southampton to hitch Italian facet Atalanta for a payment that would rise to £18m.
Sources have informed BBC Sport that the Saints have a sell-on clause within the settlement.
The 23-year-old was signed again in 2023 for a club-record fee of £22m and made 74 appearances.
Sulemana hyperlinks again up with earlier Southampton boss Ivan Juric on the Serie A facet.
