The tiny Italian island of Lampedusa has been the primary port of entry for migrants and refugees making the perilous journey throughout the Mediterranean.
Their arrival has divided the native inhabitants, with some expressing distrust within the right-wing, anti-migration authorities of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
