Michael Ofer-Ziv, an Israeli reservist, spoke in an interview with Al Jazeera, explaining his refusal to return to Gaza. He, together with 129 different reservists, signed a letter urging the federal government to prioritise the return of captives. Ofer-Ziv expressed that their aim is to stress the federal government to deal with bringing again captives alive. Whereas he acknowledged that refusing to serve is taboo in Israeli society, he views the rising variety of signatories as important. He stays involved about civilian hurt in Gaza regardless of not being in shut contact with troopers at the moment serving there.
