To the editor: Having learn the article on Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance’s authoritarian leanings and his 2019 conversion to Catholicism, I’m unconvinced that he’s actually a Christian. He makes this extra apparent along with his indignant, divisive rhetoric.
The Christians of assorted denominations I do know are form to strangers, don’t lie with callous abandon and don’t befriend unrepentant convicts. They don’t seem to be racists, xenophobes or misogynists, and they don’t seem to be hurtful, antagonistic and merciless.
They’re, the truth is, the precise antithesis of how Vance presents himself. Come to think about it, there’s one label that describes Vance: Christofascist.
One can be hard-pressed to search out two extra ungodly candidates than these on the high of the Republican ticket. Sadly, the “grace” Vance sought by changing into a Catholic clearly has utterly evaded him.
If he wished to behave extra like a person of religion, Vance ought to take a web page from President Biden’s e-book. He’s a Catholic who exemplifies kindness, sacrifice, inclusion and altruism — all traits important in true public servants, no matter non secular affiliation.

To the editor: The very last thing our planet wants is one other establishment or political motion demanding elevated (or mandated) human replica. We’ve nearly killed the planet with our considerable presence as it’s.
God have to be up there shaking his head, pondering: “Idiots! Right here I gave you accountability for the well-being of Earth and the free will to make sure it, however you’ve squandered alternatives at each flip.”
