The execution of British-Iranian man Alireza Akbari, who had been sentenced to loss of life, has sparked worldwide condemnation.
Mr Akbari, the ex-deputy Iranian defence minister, was arrested in 2019 and convicted of spying for the UK, which he denied.
After Iran’s state media reported the execution, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak known as it a “callous and cowardly act, carried out by a barbaric regime”.
In the meantime, France has summoned Iran’s prime diplomat in Paris, warning that Tehran’s repeated violations of worldwide regulation couldn’t go unanswered.
Iran posted a video of Mr Akbari earlier this week, displaying what gave the impression to be pressured confessions, whereas BBC Persian broadcast an audio message from him on Wednesday through which he mentioned he had been tortured and compelled to admit on digicam to crimes he didn’t commit.
