To the editor: It’s about time that the overworked, under-appreciated directors of the Los Angeles Unified College District drew a line within the sand and stated, “We have now had sufficient.” (“LAUSD principals say demands are too high, hours too long. They are joining the Teamsters,” Dec. 19)
Having not too long ago retired from LAUSD after 35 years (17 as an assistant principal and later a principal), I’m continually reminded by my former friends that I’m the fortunate one. The job of principal has was a 24/7, year-round place.
The district has drained the enjoyment from their work, so good for them for unionizing.
