To the editor: Why are human beings so anxious to exchange human beings? (“OpenAI accuses China of stealing its content, the same accusation that authors have made against OpenAI,” column, Jan. 30)
We have now already let computer systems run a lot of our lives. What is going to we people do once we are not wanted, not have jobs or a goal in life, and not must exert bodily or psychological effort? Sit at house watching TV and our smartphones? By no means go to a bodily retailer, which in all probability received’t exist anyway?
Sure, I take advantage of computer systems every day. They’re a giant assist in offering providers to our large inhabitants.
However I wish to speak with an skilled human being, whether or not in individual or on the cellphone, when I’ve an issue. I don’t wish to work together with synthetic intelligence. There is no such thing as a option to substitute an organization loyal to its workers and workers loyal to their firm. I don’t need AI forcing me to just accept an unsuitable reply.
I wish to must battle a bit to put in writing one thing like this, not have AI do it for me.
So, I assume the individuals writing AI coding have good jobs, and billionaires are completely happy to exchange these irritating, irrational, pesky people who want greater than a canned interplay from AI. I assume my gardener will all the time have a job, I assume these on the prime and their bosses will all the time have a job, however I assume I received’t.
Perhaps I’m lacking the purpose of AI or have learn too many science fiction novels.
