Hurricane Nicole has made landfall in Florida, with wind speeds reaching as much as 75mph (120km/h).
Some 215,000 houses and companies within the US state have been left with out energy.
The hurricane, which is uncommon for November, was downgraded to a tropical storm after it slowed between the Bahamas and Florida.
Regardless of this, states of emergency and evacuation orders have remained in place, with heavy rain and storm surges forecast.
