NEW YORK — A number of hundred protesters led by leftish Jewish teams gathered in New York Metropolis on Monday to demand an finish to the battle in Gaza.
The protesters carried indicators that stated, “Cease ethnic cleaning,” “By no means once more is now,” and “Cease hunger.”
New York Metropolis Comptroller Brad Lander, the town’s highest-ranking Jewish elected official, led the group in chants of “No extra.”
“Yesterday on Tisha B’av, we mourned a destruction that occurred to the individuals of Israel. Immediately we mourn a destruction being brought on by the State of Israel, and we are saying no extra,” Lander stated. “We collect at a second of profound disaster. Palestinians in Gaza are enduring a catastrophic rolling destruction that’s taking place in our title and we are saying no extra.”
Lander describes himself as a progressive Zionist. He partnered with Zohran Mamdani, a harsh Israel critic, throughout Mamdani’s marketing campaign for the Democratic Celebration mayoral main, which Mamdani received final month.
Different audio system included Morriah Kaplan, the interim director of IfNotNow, political activist Ruth Messinger, author Peter Beinart, Rabbi Jill Jacobs of T’ruah, Audrey Sasson, director of Jews for Financial and Racial Justice, and Gili Getz, the pinnacle of the Israelis for Peace activist group.
Some within the crowd wore Palestinian attire, akin to shirts with the Palestinian flag, keffiyehs, and kippahs with watermelons, an emblem of the motion. Some protesters carried an indication with a Star of David, a swastika, and pictures of emaciated kids in Gaza and the Holocaust.

The protest, known as “Jews Say: No Extra,” passed off at Columbus Circle in Manhattan, throughout from the Trump Worldwide Resort.
The demonstrators demanded that the Trump administration apply stress on Israel to halt the battle and improve humanitarian assist to Gaza.
