To the editor: Relating to Eli Federman’s piece on holiday lights, there’s nothing mistaken with illuminated Hanukkah decorations. In spite of everything, Hanukkah is the Pageant of Lights, a vacation celebrating Jews who fought off stress to adapt to a tradition that wasn’t theirs.
Christmas has been in our faces and ears since Halloween: lights, music, retailer shows, commercials and extra. Isn’t that sufficient? Jews usually are not lacking out on mild, magnificence or the rest by celebrating Hanukkah.
Being Jewish is sufficient. And being Jewish doesn’t imply that one can’t take pleasure in the great thing about the season.
