The homeowners of an oil tanker concerned in a collision with a cargo ship within the North Sea have praised the “heroic motion” of crew for limiting the harm.
The Stena Immaculate and cargo ship Solong collided off the East Yorkshire coast at about 10:00 GMT on Monday. One crew member of the Solong, Mark Angelo Pernia, is lacking, presumed useless.
In a press release, the tanker’s homeowners, Crowley, stated 17,515 of 220,000 barrels of Jet-A1 gasoline had been misplaced “because of the influence and hearth”.
Vladimir Motin, captain of the Solong, appeared at Hull Magistrates’ Courtroom on Saturday charged with gross negligence manslaughter and was remanded in custody to seem earlier than the Central Prison Courtroom in London on 14 April.
The Marine Accident Investigation Department (MAIB) is trying to establish the reason for the crash.
