Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Iran for his first worldwide journey past the borders of the previous Soviet Union since launching his invasion of Ukraine, which successfully ruptured ties with the West. Putin met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran, and with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He additionally met with Iran’s Supreme Chief Ayatollah Khamenei.
