To the editor: Eric Trump has been quoted as saying, “What number of extra rifles are going to get inside assassination distance of my father?” (“A second assassination attempt against former President Trump raises new questions,” Sept. 15)
Does that not additionally apply to all different mindless killings in our nation? Kids, teenagers, concertgoers, individuals in church, vacationers, buyers — nobody is protected anyplace when individuals can simply purchase assault weapons.
Our elected officers, who can change legal guidelines to make our nation and its individuals protected, flip a blind eye to innocents being slaughtered. Let’s hope the most recent try on former President Trump’s life will open their eyes and spur them into motion.

To the editor: The Secret Service reportedly has trouble offering satisfactory safety for Trump on his personal golf programs. It warned him that elements of his programs are seen from public streets and sidewalks.
So, the general public should pay for extra safety. The easy resolution is for Trump to not play on his personal properties when he’s within the public eye. He may play at extra remoted programs or at army golf programs.
But when he insists on taking part in at a course that the Secret Service warns is tough to safe, let this billionaire cowl the price of his personal safety whereas {golfing}.
