In response to the air raids on Gaza, rockets have been fired from Strip in direction of southern Israel.
Reporting from Gaza Metropolis, Al Jazeera’s Youmna El Sayed stated “barrages of rockets are being launched from the Gaza Strip towards southern Israeli cities. We additionally noticed the Iron Dome attempting to intercept these rockets.
“That is the primary response because the Israeli assault on Gaza yesterday.. after 36 hours it’s the first Palestinian response,” she added.
Hamas stated in an announcement that the rockets launched from Gaza have been “a unified response” to the “bloodbath dedicated by the Israeli occupation.”
“The unified response of the resistance is critical and steady towards all aggression,” added the motion.
On the Israeli aspect, authorities informed residents residing in cities alongside the Gaza border fence to stay near or inside shelters.
Reporting from Ashkelon in southern Israel, Al Jazeera’s Willem Marx stated that the Israeli military was on excessive alert as sirens have been initiated and the Iron Dome intercepts incoming rockets.
