Shares of Heineken fell as a lot as 7.4% early Monday in Amsterdam after the Dutch brewer took a $949 million impairment on its stake within the largest brewer in China. Shopper spending continues to be below stress in that key market and within the US and Europe. The corporate cited a fall within the valuation of its stake in China’s largest brewer, China Assets Beer Holdings Co., attributable to issues about shopper demand within the mainland which have affected its share value. It flagged weak spot within the US and Europe that’s clouding its prospects. It is also a giant week for auto and tech earnings.
