France has summoned American ambassador Charles Kushner to Paris, after the diplomat accused the nation of not doing sufficient to fight antisemitism in a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron.

The French international ministry mentioned in its assertion that “France firmly rejects these allegations” from Kushner, including that French authorities have “totally mobilized” to fight an increase in antisemitic acts since Hamas launched a lethal assault on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
