CPPCC member Zhou Hongyi, co-founder and chairman of web safety agency Qihoo 360, advised state-owned China Information Service on Sunday that the largest threat associated to synthetic intelligence expertise was falling behind within the AI race.
“We should always neither exaggerate nor ignore safety points associated to AI,” Zhou mentioned. “Some main AI corporations within the US exaggerate the safety problems with AI as an excuse for not having open-sourced merchandise as they search a monopoly, so the latecomers can not catch up.”
Zhou mentioned China should “accurately perceive” the safety problems with AI.
“Falling behind in [AI] improvement is the largest safety threat,” he mentioned. “We should seize this chance of AI to enhance productiveness and let everybody profit from the fruits of the inclusiveness of science and expertise”.
