The trial of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy started on Monday over allegations that he acquired thousands and thousands of euros in unlawful election marketing campaign financing from the regime of late Libyan chief Muammar Gaddafi.
Sarkozy was in workplace from 2007 to 2012.
If convicted, he might face a decade behind bars.
