Belgian investigators have searched places of work on the European Parliament in Brussels, as a part of an investigation into alleged bribes from World Cup hosts Qatar.
It was the twentieth search carried out since Friday and the parliament president, Roberta Metsola, warned MEPs that “democracy is beneath assault”.
Belgian police have charged 4 individuals, amongst them European Parliament Vice-President Eva Kaili, a Greek MEP.
Qatar has denied any wrongdoing and Ms Kaili’s lawyer says she is harmless.
