EastEnders actor James Bye, who performs Martin Fowler, has revealed how he was sworn to secrecy over his character’s premature loss of life within the cleaning soap’s fortieth anniversary stay episode.
Fowler, a personality born in the course of the cleaning soap’s first 12 months of broadcast in 1985, was killed after an explosion on the Queen Vic pub.
The episode featured Fowler declaring his like to Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), with the pair getting engaged earlier than he died of cardiac arrest.
