Hillary Clinton marketing campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann was acquitted of mendacity to the FBI, within the first trial of particular counsel John Durham’s investigation.
The decision is a serious defeat for Durham and his Justice Division prosecutors, who’ve spent three years in search of wrongdoing within the Trump-Russia probe. He claimed Sussmann lied throughout a 2016 assembly wherein he handed a tip to the FBI about Donald Trump and Russia.
