
Supply riders won’t be allowed to make use of the quick lanes in Dubai from November 1, underneath new guidelines to enhance street security and “scale back fatalities and accidents”.
In an announcement launched on Sunday, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police stated riders shall be barred from utilizing the “two leftmost lanes on roads with 5 lanes or extra”.
On roads with three or 4 lanes, riders can not use the leftmost lane.
No restrictions shall be applied on roads with two lanes or fewer.

Riders caught violating the rule will face fines of AED 500 for the primary offence and AED 700 for the second, with their permits suspended upon a 3rd violation, introduced Main Basic Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police.
In the meantime, riders violating the 100 km/h velocity limits shall be fined AED 200 for the primary offence, AED 300 for the second, and AED 400 for the third.
New signboards shall be put in to “point out lanes restricted to industrial bikes, alongside present signage that prohibits heavy automobiles and vans from utilizing high-speed lanes”, defined Hussain Al Banna, CEO of Site visitors and Roads Company at RTA.
