Lethal landslides have swept away houses in Venezuela’s Las Tejerias metropolis, south of the capital Caracas.
The variety of folks killed has reportedly risen to 36, and 56 others are lacking after the torrential rainfall.
About 1,000 emergency personnel are participating in search and rescue operations.
“We’re attempting to avoid wasting whoever we will and are expressing our condolences to all those that have misplaced a cherished one,” Vice-President Delcy Rodríguez stated.
President Nicolás Maduro has declared three days of nationwide mourning.
