Greater than 120 folks have been killed following the worst floods in years within the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kinshasa, the authorities stated.

Main roads within the metropolis centre had been submerged as heavy rains continued for hours and several other houses collapsed.

Lots of those that died had been in hillside areas which suffered landslides.

The federal government has introduced a three-day interval of nationwide mourning.
