The six-member committee is chaired by zoology division college Neeta Sehgal. Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh has directed to submit the report inside two weeks. The committee contains DU Joint Proctor and school principals as members.

College of Delhi (DU) has fashioned a six-member committee to research the assault on Sujit Kumar, a college member at BR Ambedkar Faculty (BARC). The committee is chaired by Neeta Sehgal, Division of Zoology. DU’s vice-chancellor, Yogesh Singh, has directed the committee to submit its report inside two weeks.

As per the institute, Jyoti Trehan Sharma, DU’s Joint Proctor, serves as member secretary. Different members embody Rama, Principal of Hansraj Faculty; Swati Diwakar (Environmental Research); Darvinder Kumar, Principal of PGDAV Faculty; and Awadhesh Kumar, Joint Proctor.

The incident occurred when Delhi College College students’ Union (DUSU) Joint Secretary Deepika Jha reportedly entered the school with round 50 college students and slapped the faculty member. Different college students allegedly manhandled academics and pressured them to hunt the resignation of the disciplinary committee convener. CCTV footage of the assault is reportedly out there within the principal’s workplace.

    Lecturers’ organisations condemn assault

Lecturers’ organisations, together with the Democratic Lecturers Entrance (DTF), condemned the assault on the BR Ambedkar Faculty college member. Delhi College Vice-Chancellor urged motion towards these concerned.

The DTF acknowledged that each one members of the school’s disciplinary committee resigned, citing their lack of ability to carry out duties and keep order with out safety from pupil interference.

ABVP defended Jha, claiming the trainer misbehaved with college students and acted with political bias. The group demanded a disciplinary inquiry into the trainer and criticised the police for inaction. A number of teachers criticised ABVP for shifting focus to the trainer’s conduct.
