Defence legal professionals will proceed their closing pitches to the decide Wednesday within the sexual assault trial of five former members of Canada’s world junior hockey team.
Court heard from lawyers representing two of the accused, Alex Formenton and Dillon Dube, on Tuesday, and Dube’s lawyer is predicted to complete her submissions at the moment.
Formenton’s lawyer, Daniel Brown, argued the complainant’s testimony about her way of thinking that evening is contradicted by video proof and the accounts of different witnesses.

The central concern at trial is whether or not the complainant consented to the sexual exercise that befell in a London, Ont., lodge room within the early morning hours of June 19, 2018.

Formenton, Dube, Michael McLeod, Carter Hart and Callan Foote have pleaded not responsible to sexual assault, whereas McLeod has additionally pleaded not responsible to a further cost of being a celebration to the offence of sexual assault.
Prosecutors will even make their closing submissions to the decide after the defence.
The trial started in late April and the decide is predicted to ship her ruling on July 24.
