Gale drive winds and heavy rains are lashing coastal areas of north-west India and southern Pakistan as a fierce cyclone makes landfall.
Greater than 170,000 folks have been evacuated up to now.
Forecasters have warned that Cyclone Biparjoy – which implies “catastrophe” in Bengali – may destroy properties and crops in its path.
