For some fast context, Chip and Joanna — who’ve been married since 2003, and beforehand hosted the favored HGTV present Fixer Higher — are religious Christians. Again in 2016, viewers discovered that the pastor of their evangelical and mission-based church seemed to be against same-sex marriage.
This raised doubts about whether or not an LGBTQ+ couple would ever characteristic on Fixer Higher. Amid the discourse, HGTV stated in a statement, “We don’t discriminate in opposition to members of the LGBT group in any of our exhibits.
