Robots ran alongside people on the Yizhuang half-marathon in Beijing on Saturday.
Twenty-one humanoid robots, designed by Chinese language producers, raced alongside hundreds of runners over a 21km (13-mile) course that included slopes, turns and uneven surfaces.
Some robots accomplished the race, whereas others struggled from the start. One robotic fell on the beginning line and lay flat for a number of minutes earlier than getting up and taking off.
Whereas robots have made appearances at marathons in China up to now, that is the primary time they’ve raced towards people over the course of a half-marathon.
