Removed from being a tragedy for Africa, the demise of the US Company for Worldwide Improvement (USAID) by the hands of President Donald Trump’s administration must be trigger for celebration, argues Arikana Chihombori-Quao, the previous ambassador of the African Union to the US.
Chihombori-Quao tells host Steve Clemons that USAID doesn’t have a lot to indicate for its a long time of schooling and healthcare tasks in Africa and infrequently destabilised nations beneath the guise of environmental, human rights or social justice agendas.
And if the US will not be concerned with Africa, African leaders shouldn’t beg for higher relations, she stated. “It takes two to tango,” the previous diplomat stated.
