    African and world leaders have been charged to rally collective efforts in the direction of selling social justice and human rights.

    The Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), a continental organisation, made the decision in a press launch issued on the event of the celebration of Africa Day, commemorated yearly to advertise African unity.

    In accordance with the president, Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo Besungu of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the African continent is in want of justice for all Africans inside and in diaspora.

    He urged world leaders to confront vices, comparable to discrimination, dehumanisation, financial exploitation and illegal exploitation of mineral assets.

    He mentioned, “As Catholic Church, Household of God in Africa, we belief that African Leaders will very care of the appeals and pastoral exhortations of Pope Leo XIV, following within the footsteps of his predecessor Pope Francis, is reinforcing the Church’s dedication to justice, peace, and the dignity of all of the peoples, notably the poor, the marginalized, and people struggling the results of battle, inequality, and neglect.”

    “We echo the prophetic message delivered by Pope Francis throughout his apostolic journey to the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan from January thirty first to February fifth, 2023, whereas in his impassioned plea, the Holy Father implored, “Arms off Africa! Cease choking Africa: it’s not a mine to be stripped or a terrain to be plundered. Could Africa be the protagonist of its personal future! Could Africa, the smile and hope of the world, rely for extra. Could it’s spoken of extra incessantly, and have larger weight and status among the many nations!” the discharge added.

    Addressing terrorism, problems with schooling, healthcare, refugees and displaced folks and different points ravaging the African continent and the world by extension, Mr Ambongo suggested international leaders to embark on actions that promote life, earth, peace, whereas urging the necessity to finish poverty. 

    “On this Africa Day, we urge African and world leaders, but additionally all people, to mobilize and work for justice and human rights, whereas combating all types of discrimination, financial exploitation, unlawful exploitation of pure and mineral assets, inhuman and degrading remedy, emotional trauma and every kind of struggling endured by Africans,” it added.

    “Allow us to all, as “Pilgrims of Hope”, promote and shield each single life, cut back poverty, maintain “Our Frequent Dwelling” – the Earth – constructing Bridges for Peace and Hope all over the place on the African continent and past,” the assertion added.
