Brookhaven District 4 council member John J. Humorous is the primary to announce his run for reelection within the municipal election this November.
A Brookhaven resident since 2010, Humorous was elected to metropolis council in November 2021. Born and raised in Georgetown, S.C., Humorous earned a bachelor’s diploma in civil engineering from South Carolina State College. He holds a masters diploma in public coverage/city planning from the College of Southern California Sol Value Faculty of Public Coverage. He’s the president and CEO of Grice Consulting Group.
Previous to being elected to Brookhaven Metropolis Council, Humorous served on the Planning Fee from 2013 to 2021 and because the chair of the Social Justice, Race, and Fairness Fee from 2020 to 2022.
Whereas in workplace, Humorous held a summit on the future of Buford Highway, coordinated a major transportation project with Georgia Division of Transportation at North Druid Hills Highway, urged DeKalb to scale back ambulance response times, and helped to open a brand new soccer subject on the Peachtree Creek Greenway.
Humorous’s has advocated for Buford Pointe, an reasonably priced housing improvement on Buford Freeway being deliberate by Brookhaven and DeKalb County.
District 4 has seen residential and industrial progress since Humorous has been in workplace. The redevelopment of Company Sq. by Third & City will carry 1,400 flats, senior housing, for-sale townhomes, a resort, medical workplace, retail, and pedestrian entry to the Peachtree Creek Greenway.
Humorous is launching a District 4 citizen advisory council and District 4 youth advisory council to empower and have interaction residents.

Town council District 2 seat can also be on the November poll. Council member Jennifer Owens has not made an announcement about operating for reelection.
