Bangladesh is experiencing its worst energy scarcity in a long time. Some households and small companies are with out electrical energy for as much as 10 to 12 hours at a time.
The federal government has reduce power imports resulting from low greenback reserves and a protracted heatwave is growing the demand for electrical energy.
The outages are affecting manufacturing within the essential textile sector.
