Guyana’s police chief says preliminary investigations present a fireplace at a secondary college dormitory that killed at the very least 19 individuals was “maliciously set”.
Most of these killed within the city of Mahdia had been Indigenous college students.
President Irfaan Ali known as the tragedy within the gold-mining city “horrible” and “painful”.
